The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class are well-constructed, stately, two seat roadsters made in small volumes for customers with exclusive tastes.

The SL-Class comprises four models; the SL550, SL55 AMG, SL600, and SL65 AMG (in increasing order of engine output). Each of these models come as a two-door, retractable hardtop roadster. Their drivetrains range from a 382-hp, 5.5-liter V8 with seven-speed automatic in the SL550 to the immensely powerful 604-hp, 6.0-liter V12 SL65 AMG (paired to a five-speed automatic). All SL-Class models come with large ventilated disc brake systems with ABS and EBD, ESP (electronic stability program), traction control, ABC (automatic body control) air suspension, front and side air bags, driver knee bag, and an automatically deployable rollover bar behind the seats.

For 2008, the Mercedes-Benz SL Class is largely carried over, save for new premium nappa leather available as an option for the SL550.
